Donuts:
Are fried, full of sugar and white flour and high in trans fats. They are also high in calories and devoid of nutrients. Having a donut for breakfast is the worst way to start the day as it will imbalance your blood sugar (which may cause fatigue, jitteriness, or further sugar cravings) and leave you hungry again in no time ~ you are better off eating no breakfast at all!
Soft Drinks:
One can contains 10 teaspoons of sugar, 150+ calories, 30-55mg of caffeine and is loaded with artificial food colors and sulfites ~ worse yet are those that contain aspartame! Soft drinks are also very high in phosphorus which competes with calcium for absorption and increases the risk of osteoporosis. Obesity, tooth decay, type II diabetes and heart disease are also higher in soda drinkers. What’s more, drinking so much sugar is likely to suppress your appetite for healthy foods, paving the way for nutrient deficiencies.
French fries (all nearly all commercially fried foods):
Anything that is fried is high in trans fats and acrymlamide (cancer-causing substance). Heating healthy polyunsaturated oils at high temperatures creates large amounts of free radicals that speed up the aging process, clot the blood, increase inflammation, promote weight gain and cancer.
Chips:
Most commercial chips (potato, corn, tortilla) are high in trans fats ~ fortunately some are baked without the use of these unhealthy fats. However, the high temperatures used to cook them will potentially cause the formation of carcinogenic substances like acrylamide, and this risk remains even if the trans fat is removed.
Fried Non-Fish Seafood:
Fried: shrimp, clams, oysters, lobsters etc ~ these foods have the above risks of trans fats and acymlamide, plus an added risk of mercury. Seafood is loaded with toxic mercury, and shellfish, can be contaminated with parasites resistant viruses that may not even be killed with high heat.
[wild Alaskan salmon and other fish is still considered safe!]
